Big Baby update

We went today for a routine check-up. I was 31 weeks yesterday, but measured 32 weeks today. I finally gained a little weight....but now that makes me nervous! I don't want to gain too much!
He told us the results of the ultrasound...and the baby looks good. Everything is where it is supposed to be and looks the way it is supposed to look. The baby was 3 pounds 8 ounces, making it in the 77th percentile - like I've said - a big monster baby! Due to the baby's size, it skewed my due date and made it August 20th. The doctor said we are going to keep it as Sept. 2nd as of now though. The funny part is that Ryan has said all along it would come on the 20th.
The baby's heartbeat was up a little more today compared to what it has been, but to us, that means nothing :)
I'm seriously considering buying a belly band to help hold this melon belly up! My lower back and abdomen are killing me from toting this thing around and I still have several weeks to go!

Pictures of the purple room :)

Zoe's room finally got cleaned up today, so I snapped a few pictures in the few minutes that it was clean! :) She has been doing a pretty good job of sleeping in it. She usually wakes up after about 2 or 3 hours of sleeping, goes right back to bed, and then gets up around 3 to use the potty.
We have been reading a book called Goodnight Sun, Hello Moon when she goes to bed. It talks about how the sun goes away so we know it's time for us to sleep. We talk about it and then talk about how she has to sleep in her bed until the sun wakes up. Every morning, she comes in our room at 6:30 saying "Mommy, sun's awake". I of course put her in our bed and snuggle for another hour or so :)
The awesome orange stripe pillow that clashes with everything is from our living room. She adopted that as her pillow when she started using a pillow and refuses to use anything else!

Here you go -

I keep saying that I feel as big as I was the day I went in to give birth to Zoe - and I still have 10 weeks to go (maybe). I was looking this morning at a few different websites and apparently at a gestational age of 32 weeks, a baby weighs 3.75 pounds. I was 29 weeks with a baby weighing 3.7 pounds.....we go next week to the doctor, so I guess we will see what he thinks ;-)

Here is a picture as proof that I'm all belly, and it's quite big. Zoe, of course, had to show off "her baby".

Monster Baby

I went for a check-up on Tuesday and measured right at 29 weeks. The heartbeat was right at 138, which makes the 3rd appointment in a row that it was 138. The doctor had us go for another ultra sound to check the size of the baby. Overall, I have only gained about 3 pounds. The doctor wanted to check to see if the baby was measuring bigger than I was measuring - he was thinking that the baby is just sucking up all the extra weight I should be gaining.
My lovely husband informed me today that he is worried about how big my belly is going to get because (according to him) I look like I'm the size I was when I gave birth to Zoe!
Anyway, it was neat to get to see the baby on the ultrasound today. We only saw Zoe at 20 weeks, which was the same with this one, until today. The baby was head down and active. We got to see some parts that we weren't able to at 20 weeks. No, not those parts, but we once again requested not to see them! :) She was even able to show us a "fuzzy" spot on the head that was hair.
As far as the size, as suspected, the baby is measuring bigger than I am measuring. I am 29 weeks this week. The average baby at 30 weeks weighs 3 pounds. This baby is measuring at 3 pounds 7 oz. We won't know the "official"ness of everything until we go back to see Dr. P in 2 weeks.
So, until then, I just keep feeling huge! :)

This is a profile picture along with some part of its arm.

This one is a picture looking at it's face. We didn't get to see this view the first time because it wouldn't turn. With Zoe, I remember this looking like a little alien. With this one and being so far along, it actually looks like a fat cheeked baby! :)

Congrats Jessie!

We all knew that she would make it! It was surely a struggle at some points, but she got there! Jessie finally graduated high school :) We decided to leave Zoe at home (great thinking!), so she spent the day helping Valerie paint her house - or playing with tape :)
GREAT JOB JESSIE! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!

Our little fish

Back in the Winter/Spring, Ryan took Zoe to swim lessons every Thursday. She really had a great time, but was also somewhat timid. She enjoyed playing in the pool, but wouldn't let Ryan let go of her.
Last weekend, we went to Ken and Lynn's for a graduation party and my little timid girl suddenly turned into a water loving fish! I forgot to take her favorite life jacket that doesn't go around her neck. We tried the one they had there, but it kept choking her. I decided to just let her use a pool noodle to see how she would do.....little did I know that she would put it under her arms and take off swimming! It was so fun to watch her. A little scary for me at first to watch her being so brave, but I guess she has to start somehow! The next day, Ryan took her in and she swam the length of the pool 2 1/2 times by herself with just the noodle!

First trip to the Zoo

I had a half of a personal day left and we made a "date" to take Zoe to the zoo. We weren't sure we were going to be able to go then because of the weather forecast....it kept showing rain, rain, rain. That day, we decided that there may be enough of a window for us to make it there and walk around without getting wet. The entire time we were there, it looked like rain, but we never felt a drop! It was very hot and muggy though!
At first, I don't think that Zoe understood that the animals were wild and had to stay caged where we couldn't touch them, but then she got the hang of it.
The first thing we got to see was the new polar bear exhibit. It was so neat to see! We went to the under water viewing area, but the best part was above ground when the bear swam right up and looked at Zoe in her stroller!

We went into the aquarium and Zoe tried out the touch tank (with mommy's encouragement of course). Silly guy kept telling her she had to just tap the items with one finger - she wanted to pet them!

In the manatee area, she could have cared less about the manatees, but loved watching the other fish that were in the tank. She also noticed all the lettuce floating around :)

Our next stop was at the carousel. Daddy got the fun job of riding on this one! Mommy doesn't do well going in circles!

Next up were the Apes and monkeys. The little baby was absolutely adorable - it was missing a leg :( Zoe thought the big ones were funny sleeping with their mouths open. We got a huge kick out of the monkey next to the glass. It had quite the personality! I would pucker up and it would cozy up next to the glass. Zoe would do it and it would hit the glass and turn it's head. This went on for quite a while along with some other funny antics from him :)

Finally, we got to see the elephants. There were 2 in the building and were very fun to watch. They were feeding themselves hay by throwing it up and catching it in their mouth - fascinating for a 2 year old. Mommy and daddy were a little more "fascinated" with the male elephant :)

Big girl bed!

We have been making the attempt for about 30 minutes now to get Zoe asleep in her new bed. We knew it wouldn't be an easy task since she has been sleeping with us for so long. New room....new bed....new surroundings.....no mommy and daddy snuggling next to her. I laid with her for a bit until I think she finally realized I wasn't going to give in and let her get up, so she asked for daddy to lay with her. I got him and gave him the rundown of what she was going to try to talk him into - which was to either get up or lay in our bed.
He has been with her for about 10 minutes and I don't hear any crying, so hopefully that's a good sign - or maybe it's a sign that daddy fell asleep also.
I worry about her waking up scared and not sure of what to do. She has a rail up on the side of her bed and it only gives her a little space to get out of bed......
And, as I type, Ryan has come creeping down the stairs and said she is still wide awake.....he told her he was going "potty". Poor little lady is scared :(
She was out of control excited when they delivered it and when Mimi was helping her to bring toys up. You would think she would be exhausted!

On another note - I know I have tons of other happenings to update on and I'm hoping to get them posted tonight (or at least ready to be posted through the week)! No promises, of course!

A day filled with friends!

I love when we get to spend time with the Jones family! Bud and Ryan had schemed to play 36 holes of golf, which left tons of time for Lori and I to visit and the girls to play.
We started the day picking strawberries and of course I didn't take my camera. Zoe picked about 4 berries, then touched a rotten one that got on her fingers and she was over it. She then carried the basket and let me put the berries in it. The other girls loved it too!
When we left berry picking, we went for lunch at Bob Evans and then the girls were spent, ready for some AC and a nice nap. They both fell asleep pretty quickly and we were quite surprised! Once they woke up, we got our things together to head to the "fountain park".
I had heard about a fun park in Oakwood that had fountains for the kids to play in. I looked at their website and they only had one park listed with fountains, so that's where we went. Turns out, there was 1 fountain....but there was also a nice park. The girls had fun, so that's all that mattered! :)
