Bubbles

First thing this morning, Zoe started rummaging through the cabinet and found her bubbles.  She then, of course, wanted to go out and play.  She put on her shoes and jacket and headed out...in her pj's :)

I love the way some of these pictures turned out!

On the right track

We combined Zoe's 3rd birthday pictures, family pictures, and Jack's 1 month pictures into one sitting. It made for a long morning, but it was much better than trying to go back several times. Thankfully the kids were excellent!
Everyone asks if I'm going to take him every month for the first year......so far, we're off to a good start :)

Smile

You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed

Sing like a bird, dizzy in my head

Spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe

Shine like gold, buzz like a bee

Just the thought of you can drive me wild

Oh, you make me smile

How could you not when you see these precious faces :)

The Big Spill...

was created when the husband decided to drive too closely to the person in front of him and got brake checked.
The result = a 5 gallon bucket of paint spilled all over tthe back of the Trailblazer, oozed under the back seat, and then down under the plastic trim by the doors....all the way to the front of the car under the passenger side carpet and was dripping out all of the holes in the metal along the way.
Paint under the plastic trim, but notice the paint on the blue tarp - that's where it had dripped out.
Under the back seat

All the way along the trim to the front

And finally puddled under the passenger carpet in the very front.
And this is where the mess began....

One Smart Cookie

When Zoe was little, the teacher in me kicked in and I tried so hard to teach her everything I possibly could - from colors, counting to 10, saying and recognizing her ABC's, etc. As she has grown into a very smart, independent little lady....I have given up! I still work with her, but only when she initiates and have realized that she will learn it all when she is ready.

Over the summer, on our way to the pool one day, she decided to make me crazy and ask me the "Mommy, what color is that one?" to every house we passed.....let me just say it's about a 15 minute drive to the pool - we saw a lot of houses! This continued for the week each time we were in the car. After that, she knew all of the colors!

Lately, she has really been working on sorting into different categories. Again, this is all on her own. One night, her and Ryan were playing blocks. First she sorted them into groups by shapes (I have to work hard to teach this to my first graders people!), then she sorted them by colors and built castles of each color.

The other day, she had out a huge stack of construction paper. She decided she was going to sort it all by color before using them. :)

Then, we had to be silly of course, before doing anything else!

Now, I'm in no way saying that she is first grade smart.....I'm just saying I know that this type of sorting is a skill I teach in first grade.
I just love the fact that she takes interest in doing these sorts of activities and has fun doing so. To me, she's one smart cookie (or monkey, or Punky, or doodle bug, or whatever you want to call her!)

Guess What?!?!

Lately, I have really been missing my Grandmas (Dorothy and Judy)! I would have loved for them to have been able to meet Jack and see their faces when they held him and take pictures of them kissing him......... I know though, that they are both looking down on him and Zoe and protect them every day.

Every time I take our my camera, I think of Grandma Judy and try to make sure that I have everyone's head in the picture :)

One little game that we always played with Grandma Dorothy was "Guess what! What? Guess What! What? Guess What! What?.............I love you" I taught this to Zoe back in the Spring and she loves it. Out of no where, she will say, "Guess what mommy!" "What Zoe?" "I said guess what mommy!" "What Zoe?" "Mommy, I love you" :)

Earlier this week, I was holding Jack and Zoe came over to him. Very quietly she whispered to Jack "Hey Jack, I have a secret! Guess what!......I love you!"

Way, way, way too cute!!! - Of course, it made these hormones even more crazy and brought a tear to my eye.

She is such a good little girl and an awesome big sister!
