Castles

All Zoe wanted for Christmas was a "puter" and blocks....which of course, she got....and guess what she plays with all the time....both of them!
She plays with the blocks a little more than the computer. She loves to build castles and daddy loves to have her watch him build castles using all of her blocks. I finally caught them on camera the other day - usually, by the time I get my camera, Zoe has knocked the castle over.
This would be pictues of a castle that daddy built while Zoe watched ;-)

The infamous paper towel

For those of you that haven't heard this story, we have been getting a kick out of it for a few weeks now because it's just ongoing.
A few weeks ago, while I was working on a paper for my master's (I was sitting at my laptop with a pad of paper and a text book), and Zoe gathered up one of her books along with her little laptop. She climbed up on the couch next to me. When we asked her what she was doing, she said "Me working on paper towel too" :)
It was just so cute!
So, the other day, she got her computer again, climbed up on the fire, and told us she was working on her paper towel "again".
Gotta love her :)

Happy Valentine's Day...a week late

I finally have a little break from my master's and decided to catch up with some pictures and blogging. I didn't get out to get Ryan anything for Valentine's Day because of all the snow and not feeling well....so I decided to take an idea from my friend Jen's website and make him a special gift from Zoe :)
She spent about 10 minutes putting the tissue paper on the contact paper. She ended up getting mad because if she dropped a piece it would stick to the tissue paper outside of the heart.
Anyway, it turned out very cute and Ryan liked it :) I was also able to finally get out this past week and got him an OSU sweatshirt.

Basket full of goodies...

I had a check-up with the OB tonight and Zoe and Ryan tagged along. As we were checking out, Zoe noticed a basket sitting on the counter. At her doctor she is used to this basket being full of stickers....
She looked at this basket and said "Mommy, Zoe wants sticker"..........it was a basket full of condoms :)
She was quite confused when we all started cracking up and said she couldn't have one of those stickers....thankfully the nurses had a roll of real stickers behind the desk! :)

Mr. Fix It

For as long as I have known Ryan, I have never known him to willingly attempt to fix something. I always tease that he doesn't even know how to use a screw driver.
Well, last Friday was an absolutely horrendous morning - partly because our fridge/freezer stopped working. We lost all of the food that we had in it and were really hoping that we weren't also going to have to replace the fridge on top of all the food.
Ryan called Chris - our Mr. Fix it - and he was working all weekend and wouldn't have been able to fix it until this past Monday. He told Ryan that he had the part on his truck and it wasn't hard to fix.
So, Ryan was all gung ho about fixing it and after a few bumps in the road, HE DID IT!
Of course, I had to take a picture so that years down the road, Zoe knows that her daddy has fixed at least one thing :)

Buckeye update

I don't remember if I ever posted what we decided to do with Buckeye, so I'm sorry if I repeat anything.
We were debating on whether to fix Buckeye's legs or to see how they would heal on their own. Well, as we were debating, she got out the front door and sprinted to the neighbors, by the time she got back, she could hardly walk and was then favoring the leg that she had hurt last summer. We waited the weekend out to see if she would get any better and she pretty much was just dragging both back legs - it was pitiful.
We reluctantly scheduled an appointment for her to go see a new surgeon on that Monday. Ryan took her down and they decided to replace both back ACL's at the same time. She had to stay from Monday to Thursday night and was not happy with us when we picked her up.
She has to spend a lot of time in her cage to keep her calm and restricted. Zoe has been a great sister to her. She even would get in her cage to pet her, read to her, and play play-doh.
She goes this coming Monday to get her stitches taken out and has another 4 weeks of extreme restrictions.
In the end, it didn't cost as much as expected and Buckeye is acting pretty much back to normal, so it was worth it....

Home Service...

Nothing better than having an aunt/sister who is going to cosmo school and willing to cut hair at the drop of a dime....at our house! Not to mention that Zoe sits incredibly still for her!
Thanks Taylor for finding something you love to do and for using us as your guinea pigs!

Snowed In....

Well, this weekend has turned into nothing that we had planned.
Originally, we were going to Waverly tonight to watch a big game for Harrison, back to Xenia tomorrow - dropping Zoe off with mom on the way - then a date night with us and Val to dinner and to watch Rascal Flatts. Pick Zoe up on Sunday and back home for a super bowl party Sunday night.
New plan, snowed in for the night and ordering Pizza Hut delivery - which they "can't quote a delivery time" - playing in the snow tomorrow and maybe going to the rescheduled game tomorrow night. Still planning on the super bowl party on Sunday.
So, while I'm snowed in, maybe I will get some blogging accomplished and some pictures posted :)
Zoe was showing a little more interest in the snow when we got home today, so hopefully that will carry over into tomorrow :)
